Getting Started
What is bio.re?
bio.re is a link-in-bio platform where creators can share links and receive paid DMs from fans. It's 100% free — no subscription tiers, no premium paywall. We only take a small platform fee on paid DMs.
How much does bio.re cost?
Free forever for creators and fans. We charge a flat platform fee when a fan pays for a DM. That's our only cost — everything else is included.
How do I claim my bio.re handle?
Sign up, enter your preferred handle (e.g. bio.re/yourname), set a password, and confirm your email. Takes 30 seconds.
Do I need to be famous to use bio.re?
Not at all. bio.re works for anyone — from new creators with 10 followers to artists with millions. Start earning from day one.
Bio Page
Can I use bio.re just as a link-in-bio (no DMs)?
Yes. In onboarding, pick DMs Off mode. Your Bio Page works like a standard link-in-bio. You can turn DMs on anytime from DM Settings.
How many links can I add?
Unlimited. There's no cap on links, collections, or customization.
Can I pin a link to the top?
Yes. Click the pin icon on any link in the Bio Page editor. Pinned links show above all others with a gold accent.
Can I schedule a link to appear later?
Yes. In advanced link options, set a start and/or end date. The link auto-hides outside this range.
Paid DMs
How do paid DMs work?
You set a price and mode (SingleDM = pay once, chat forever. Per-Message = pay per message. Free = open inbox). Fans pay via Stripe to unlock the conversation.
What if a fan pays but I don't reply?
After 72 hours of no reply, the fan gets an automatic refund. Use Vacation Mode when you're away to pause DMs entirely.
Can I block a fan?
Yes. In any DM thread, click the menu and select Block. They can no longer DM you or pay for a DM. You can unblock from Settings.
Do fans see each other's messages?
No. Each fan has a private 1-on-1 thread with you. Fans never see other fans' conversations.
Payments & Payouts
When will I get paid?
We auto-payout weekly on Mondays (default). Change to daily, monthly, or manual in the Payout page. Funds clear 1–2 business days after transfer.
What's the platform fee?
A flat fee on each paid DM or tip. That's it. No subscription, no hidden fees, no transaction limits.
What payment methods can fans use?
Credit/debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and regional methods (SEPA, iDEAL, etc.) — all handled by Stripe.
Do I need to pay taxes on earnings?
Yes — you're responsible for your own taxes. We provide 1099-K forms for U.S. creators over IRS thresholds and VAT invoices for EU creators.
Account & Security
How do I change my bio.re handle?
Settings → Account → Username. Changing your handle updates your URL. Your old handle becomes available for someone else after 14 days.
How do I enable 2FA?
Settings → Security → Two-factor authentication → Set up 2FA. We support authenticator apps (Authy, Google Authenticator, 1Password).
How do I delete my account?
Settings → Danger zone → Delete account. Your data is soft-deleted for 30 days (in case you change your mind), then permanently erased. Pending earnings are paid out first.
I forgot my password. Help!
Click Forgot password on the login page. We'll email a reset link. If you lost your 2FA device, use a recovery code.
For Fans
How does my wallet work?
Top up your wallet with credit, then spend it on DMs and tips. No subscription. Unused balance can be withdrawn from Settings → Wallet → Withdraw.
I didn't get a reply. How do I get a refund?
If 72 hours pass without a reply, you're automatically refunded. For other issues, go to Wallet → the transaction → Request refund.
Can I see a creator's past replies?
Only if you've paid them. Your thread with each creator is private and persistent.
